March 31, 2020
Dear valued Vendor-Partners,
In light of the evolving situation with COVID-19, we have made a family decision to cancel our 2020 charity golf tournament. It is simply the right thing to do for everyone involved.
Longo’s is proud of our legacy of philanthropy and community support that began in 1956 and we remain committed to our charitable partners, especially during these uncertain times.
Despite not hosting the tournament this year, the Longo’s Family Charitable Foundation will continue to support the following charities, with investments in the areas of healthcare, mental health and child & youth leadership development initiatives:

In addition, Longo’s recently committed over $135,000 to 10 local hospitals across the GTA in support of COVID-19 emergency needs.
Of note, in the area of food security, Longo’s will corporately continue its commitment to providing food to those in need through ongoing relationships with local food banks.
If you wish to do so, we invite you to join us in support of these causes. Recognizing that this is a difficult time for everyone, we fully appreciate and understand that recovery and budget constraints take precedent.
– donations will receive a 100% tax receipt
This will be the first time in our 31-year golf tournament history that we have had to pivot from our signature event. Notwithstanding a few rain delays here and there and having to stop play in 2014, only short of finishing the last 3 holes due to a local tornado warning, we have been fortunate and blessed to have great weather and support over the years.
We have scheduled next year’s date for June 15, 2021 at Lionhead Golf Club and we look forward to seeing you there!
We encourage everyone to do their part to #flattenthecurve and look for creative ways to unlock the joy within food while practicing physical distancing with family and friends.
On behalf of the Longo family and the ForeKids’ Sake Charity Golf Tournament Committee, we wish you good health and good thoughts for this situation to resolve quickly.
